Relationships Are Hard, meet the relationships in Psychotoons’ characters

UPPER NATURE CHARACTERS

 

EDGAR AND MOLLY

Edgar’s Dad is a twin with Molly’s Mom and son and daughter of Grandma and Grandpa. They are both single parents. Edgar’s dad is a news caster and Molly’s mom is a mental health counselor. Edgar and his father are good at perceiving the world. Their dominant widgets are Ant and Bee. Molly and her mother are good at empathy and their dominant widgets are Cuddles the loving dog and Macho the scaredy cat.

Discipline does not work well unless love is a bit stronger than it. If so children want to please. If not they will begin to rebel and have resentments. We have to observe each other to see what is working or what is not working well in the relationship so we can improve. Love and fear are emotions we need to monitor in the other so they do not feel unloved and or afraid of us.

SUE

 

Sue’s Mom is a teacher and the Daughter of Grandma and Grandpa. Her husband is a preacher. They and Sue are intellectuals who lean to religion. Their dominant widgets would be Geru the the bird who see’s a Bird’s Eye View of situations. Sue’s mom is also a teacher at the local public school and is then scholarly oriented.

Fairness is needed in relationships. If they are not fair then conflict can get out of hand as people will do what they want without considering their partner’s needs. People in relationships need to negotiate and fairly to get along.

GEORGE

Georges father is the Mayor of the city and the son of Grandma and Grandpa. His wife is a Social Worker. George and his father’s dominant widget is Turtle and Rabbit. They are doers, they make things happen. But patient Turtle is there to slow them down so they can assess each situation before they act.

People in a relationship need to be servants to their partners. A servant takes pride and reward in their service for others and when both parties make life easier for the other life becomes easier for both.

LOWER NATURE CHARACTERS

RAGDE

 

Ragde ‘s Mom is a house wife and the daughter of Grandma and Grandpa. Her husband is a News Caster with Edgar’s father. Only he gives news opinions and conspiracy theories. Edgar and his father’s dominant widget is Spidie. Rather than research for facts he will give the opinions and conspiracy theories that Larry’s dad wants him to.

Relationships are hard when the truth is often ignored, even if it’s a relationship with the public trust for truth. It causes lots of problem.

CHARLETTE

 

Charlette’s mom is a model and the daughter of Grandma and Grandpa. Her father is the local tavern, or dive, owner. Charlotte and her father’s dominant widgets are the Raccoon, they can be self centered and loose empathy.

Addictions make relationships extremely hard as any addiction will commandeer your reward system and shut down a lot of our empathy making bonding with others hard. Friends also will be more superficial.

DESTINY

Destany’s mother and dad own a New Age shop of games and Lucky Charms or other alternative ways of looking at others or the world. Their dominant widget is Crow who loves fantasies more than facts. Her father is the son of Grandma and Grandpa.

Relationships need to be able to communicate reality. Fantasy can be fun and entertaining but one can get lost in them and not realize the other person may not be following them. Relationships need to be grounded enough to know each other enough to predict each others intentions and future moves.

LARRY

 

Larry’s Mom is Native American. His dad stole her land and possessions and divorced her taking Larry with him. With his wealth he was able to get custody of Larry through intimidation of city officials and judges. Larry is related to Grandma and Grandpa’s through Cuz, who through family connections is a cousin of their grandkids and of Larry.

Larry’s dad is the wealthiest person in the town and manufactures gadgets and sells them legally in stores or illegally in gangs. The town is intimidated by Larry’s dad’s power. Cuz too is intimidated and helped run the gangs so he could help protect Larry and Larry’s little sister BJ. The conflict of the town and various characters and their struggle to be honest and helpful to each other without the wrath and influence of Larry’s dad’s power is at the heart of the stories. BJ is often the pawn in the saga.
